I agree with everything you said in your blog. 

I would add that removing the word &quot;should&quot; when evaluating yourself will help remove obstacles  blocking the path to happiness. The word is isolating and is counter productive. &quot;I should be happy. I should be more successful. I should love my family. I should make more money. I should be acknowledged more.&quot; 

I find replacing &quot;should&quot; with either &quot;can&quot; or &quot;will&quot; is much healthier. Adding &quot;because&quot; or &quot;by doing the following&quot; is also helpful because they provide clarity and reassurance. 

But these are little things.
